Leading 2-1 from the first leg of the tie, Forest looked to be well on their way to Wembley when Brennan Johnson put them 3-1 up on aggregate 19 minutes into the second leg on Tuesday night.
However, the second half of that game saw the Blades produce a remarkable fight back, with goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and John Fleck taking the tie to extra time.

With neither side able to find the net in those additional 30 minutes, the game went to penalties, where Forest ‘keeper Brice Samba emerged as the here, saving three penalties to seal a 3-2 shootout win for Forest.
That sparked wild scenes of celebration within the City Ground, and it seems Carvalho, who made 74 appearances for Forest before leaving for Olympiacos in January, was also in jubilant mood, wherever he was watching the game from.
Taking to his Instagram page to react to that win, the midfielder, posted a picture of those Forest celebrations on his TV screen, along with the caption: “Love this feeling! #COYR. Love you @brice_samba1”
The Verdict
This is certainly good to see from Carvalho you feel.
Things did not always work out for the midfielder during his time with Forest, and you feel he never really fully realised his potential during his time at The City Ground.
Despite that this post from the 25-year-old does seem to suggest that he is still a keen follower of his old club, and he clearly still wants them to do well.
Given his connection with a number of players who are still at Forest, that is perhaps not surprising, and you imagine Carvalho will be willing them on at Wembley again in just over a week’s time.
