Leeds United forward Joe Gelhardt is currently on loan at Hull City and an update has emerged regarding his immediate future.
Leeds United loaned Joe Gelhardt to Hull City in the summer, with the versatile forward arriving on a season-long loan after finishing the 2024/25 campaign with the Tigers.
The 23-year-old notched five goals in 20 games and helped Hull narrowly avoid relegation under Ruben Selles. However, he was sent back for another stint under Sergej Jakirovic, with Gelhardt bagging 10 goals and three assists in his 20 appearances this term.
Gelhardt's form is likely to attract interest from other second tier clubs, with his ability to operate across almost every forward position extremely useful. His versatility and output are commodities most top sides would love to have.
He is currently injured until January, and Leeds have a clause in Gelhardt's deal which will concern Hull and their supporters, given the current play-off push Jakirovic's side are firmly a part of.

It's been suggested Coventry should look at Gelhardt, but the reality is that many Championship sides will be keeping tabs on his situation. Gelhardt is in the final 18 months of his Elland Road contract next month.
After it was initially thought that a wage hike in his pre-existing Leeds contract would prove to be a sticking point in negotiations with Hull, they were able to conclude a loan deal despite facing competition for Gelhardt from Middlesbrough.
It's previously been claimed that the Whites were hoping to sell Gelhardt for £8m in the summer with 24 months of his most recent deal left to run. That reported fee for Gelhardt has surprised Don Goodman as well, given the forward's exploits thus far.
An update has since emerged via Beren Cross of The Athletic, who states: "Of the current players out on loan, Mateo Joseph (Mallorca) and Joe Gelhardt (Hull City) have played the most, with the latter in contention for the Championship’s Golden Boot award.
"Leeds are more than happy with how their seasons are unfolding and do not anticipate any change in their circumstances next month."

With a total of nine minutes played in the Championship in the 2024/25 season prior to him joining Hull, it’s fair to say the double loan switch has reinvigorated Gelhardt and allowed him the chance to flourish.
With the 23-year-old struggling to build any kind of rhythm at Elland Road, Gelhardt was in desperate need of a loan switch before deciding on his long-term future with Leeds in the summer. They have since opted to loan him again.

However, the numbers speak for themselves. Gelhardt will have risen in value and in terms of interest after his exploits so far, with more now set to follow in what is a huge boost for the Tigers.
