Daniel Farke addresses the media this afternoon before Leeds United visit Brighton and Hove Albion, with Joe Rodon’s hamstring issue and the club’s deadline-day business likely to dominate.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Farke will speak at 1.30pm, with an update on Rodon expected early. Leeds are unbeaten in their opening three across all competitions and drew 1-1 with Brentford last weekend.
Rodon suffered a hamstring problem in the first half against Brentford and the severity remains unclear. A recovery timeline would be welcome, and if he misses out, attention turns to who steps in. Gabriel Gudmundsson returned to the squad last weekend and, barring setbacks, should be fit to feature, while Ilia Gruev has been back in training for a couple of weeks.
Farke also has a new defensive option after Melvin Bard signed on a season-long loan from OGC Nice on deadline day. Fellow Frenchman Jean-Matteo Bahoya arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt later that night. Both are eligible for the Amex Stadium on Saturday, though Bard has started twice this season and Bahoya is yet to play competitively.
Bahoya’s arrival preceded Willy Gnonto’s exit, for the next 12 months at least, with the winger joining Fiorentina on deadline day, while Largie Ramazani moved to Burnley. Farke is likely to be asked about those outgoings and to give his verdict on the window overall.
He may also offer thoughts on compatriot Fabian Hurzeler, whose Brighton lost 4-3 at Chelsea last time out.
