Jonathan Tah hits out at football agents

Jonathan Tah has delivered a blunt assessment of the football agency world, accusing many representatives of lacking authenticity and prioritising their own interests. The Bayern Munich defender also outlined why he chose to work with leading agent Pini Zahavi after initiating contact himself.

"I can't stand it. Many people in this business pretend to care about you, but in the end they're only interested in what benefits them," Tah said, speaking on Tim Gabel's podcast.

The Germany international said building genuine trust with agents has often proved difficult, and that players can be treated as assets rather than individuals.

"I actively contacted Pini Zahavi because I wanted to get to know him personally. From our first conversations, I had a good feeling."

Tah said he values authenticity and honesty in representation, and wanted open communication beyond football matters. The 30-year-old’s comments offer a rare glimpse into the typically private relationships between players and agents.
