Monaco open their Ligue 1 campaign away to Le Havre on Sunday at 17:15, but right-back Jordan Teze and striker Matthis Abline are missing from Filipe Luis’s squad. According to L'Équipe, the head coach has named a 21-man group that does not include the pair.

Christian Mawissa is suspended. Abline has not recovered from the right-foot problem sustained at Coventry on 14 August in the 0-2 defeat, which required stitches.

Folarin Balogun is also not ready, likewise Takumi Minamino. Mohammed Salisu is resuming his return, and Ansu Fati remains injured.

Aymen Assab, who impressed in pre-season, is not selected either, and Teze is omitted despite training on Saturday midday.

There is better news as Alexandre Golovine and Mamadou Coulibaly are available again after serving bans in Thursday’s 3-2 first-leg win at Gornik Zabrze in the Conference League play-offs. Filipe Luis said the team must send a message to themselves and their supporters by becoming a true unit on the pitch, and that is what he wants to see every match.
