José Mourinho hailed Kylian Mbappé after Real Madrid beat Inter Milan 2-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
According to L'Équipe, Mbappé opened the scoring and his strike set Madrid on their way to victory.
Mourinho said he does not like drawing comparisons, cited having seen Ronaldo Nazario along with many he has coached, and called Mbappé incredible. He added the forward is among the best players he has managed.
On the Ballon d'Or, which will be awarded on 26 October 2026, the Real Madrid manager did not name a favourite. He said the best player in the world can have a season without a title, and that winning everything does not necessarily make you the best.
Mbappé, 27, is maintaining his usual standards with five goals in five matches this season, despite a missed penalty against Betis Seville.
