Journalist says Spalletti could use Kolo Muani as a winger | OneFootball

With Juventus interested in a move for Alexander Sorloth in the final weeks of this transfer window, there are questions about how they will line him up alongside Randal Kolo Muani.

Sorloth would not want to stay on the bench if he joins the Bianconeri from Atletico Madrid, while Juventus have invested too much time and money in Kolo Muani to bench him as well. It is a nice selection headache to have, but Luciano Spalletti has to solve it, and the manager must decide how he wants to start either of them.

Juventus face attacking selection dilemma

His current system does not permit two strikers, and both players discussed here love to play through the middle or out wide. Neither has particularly enjoyed playing behind the striker, making the situation more complicated for Spalletti.

Juventus want Sorloth before this transfer window closes, and if Jonathan David stays, he will only be a backup option at the club. The Bianconeri must therefore consider how they can fit Sorloth and Kolo Muani into one team without leaving one of their important attacking options on the bench.

The arrival of Sorloth would give Juventus another powerful option in attack, but it would also require Spalletti to find the right balance. Kolo Muani has already been an important part of their plans, meaning the manager will need to consider whether he can adapt his role to accommodate the new arrival.

Kolo Muani could move out wide

Journalist Bruno Longhi has now tipped the Frenchman to play out wide. As quoted by Tuttojuve, he believes Kolo Muani could operate as an attacking winger rather than as a second striker.

“Kolo Muani can be an attacking winger. It doesn’t seem to me that Spalletti’s starting eleven has the idea of two strikers.

“Under Sorloth, the Frenchman would play as a winger in the attacking midfield, I don’t think as a second striker.”

Longhi’s suggestion would give Spalletti a potential solution if Sorloth arrives. Kolo Muani could move into a wider attacking role, allowing Sorloth to lead the line while still keeping the Frenchman involved.

The decision will ultimately rest with Spalletti, who must determine how best to use both players if Juventus complete their move for Sorloth. With the transfer window closing soon, the Bianconeri will need to resolve both their recruitment and tactical plans quickly.
