Jürgen Klopp names 44 players in first Germany squad | OneFootball

Jürgen Klopp announced his first squad in charge of the Germany national team, unveiling two separate lists for the four Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands, Greece, Serbia and Greece again, on the 24th and 27th September, and 1st and 4th October. Of those called up, 16 are new faces in the four-time world champions’ set-up.

With four matches in 10 days, the coach decided to make the most of his testing period at the helm of a side that suffered an early exit at the last World Cup, going out in the round of 16 to Paraguay. The first group will assemble for the away match against the Netherlands and the home game against Greece. After that, the second list comes into play for the clash with Serbia, once again on German soil, before travelling to face the Greeks.

The first group, for example, includes names such as Marc-André ter Stegen, Nico Schlotterbeck, Joshua Kimmich, and Kai Havertz.

For the final two fixtures, Jonas Urbig, Karim Adeyemi, Florian Wirtz, and Nick Woltemade are among the additions.

Among the new call-ups are Said El Mala, of FC Köln, who stood out last season and had even been tipped as one of the possible selections by Julian Nagelsmann for the World Cup, but ultimately missed out. Brajan Gruda, of RB Leipzig, and Younes Ebnoutalib, of Eintracht Frankfurt, are two more new faces, as is the surprise inclusion of Felix Keidel, of newly promoted SV Elversberg, who was playing in Germany’s third division until last year.
