It is Klopp’s first call-up since succeeding Julian Nagelsmann after the World Cup, and the 59-year-old has refreshed his options. New faces include SV Elversberg’s Yannick Keidel, Augsburg’s Hennes Behrens, Freiburg’s Max Rosenfelder and Hoffenheim’s Bambasé Conté.

Germany begin away to the Netherlands on 24 September, then host Greece on 27 September and Serbia on 1 October, before travelling to Greece on 3 October.

The opening window features a 24-player selection, followed by a 20-player squad for the concluding fixtures.
