Vicario explains Juventus defeat

“Juve wanted to win it, I think it’s clear for the attitude we’ve taken, for the desire and enthusiasm we’ve had and for the goals we’ve scored. We’re taking this match with us, which was a bad result, but the coach had insisted a lot this week on this preventive defensive balance and today they made us pay for it.”

The comments suggest Juventus were not short of ambition or attacking intent, but their defensive organisation ultimately let them down. Sassuolo were able to exploit that weakness and secure a result that will increase the pressure on the Bianconeri.
