Juventus plot to make only a few select signings next summer, and David Hancko remains very high on their shortlist to fix the defense, even though the suitors are flocking, as he’s primed to leave Feyenoord, Tuttomercatoweb informs.
The Bianconeri have been after him for a long time. They have an agreement in principle on personal terms. If he joined them, he’d earn €3.5M annually. On the other hand, they are far from agreeing to his price tag with Feyenoord.
The Dutch side is ready to cash in but asks for €40M from Juventus and the other teams that are eyeing Hancko. It’s the main reason why the deal didn’t come together in January already, when the Italian powerhouse signed two defenders. Atletico Madrid are long-time admirers of the Slovakian international too. Everton, which have the same ownership as Roma, and Bayer Leverkusen joined the fray more recently.
The Bianconeri think the center-back would pick them if the conditions were equal but are unlikely to spend that much. They have a bargaining chip in Facundo Gonzalez, whom they loaned to Feyenoord this season, with a €6M option to buy. However, he has featured just 10 times for a total of 269 minutes.
Besides the competition, which is fearsome, it might come down to who’s less expensive between him and Renato Veiga. They haven’t had the chance to try the latter as a ‘braccetto’ yet, and Chelsea’s willingness to sell him is in doubt. Instead, their target is tailor-made for that and is significantly more experienced.
