Juventus have earmarked Marco Carnesecchi as their preferred goalkeeping target for next summer, and any move will depend on Champions League football and a significant fee.

Tuttosport reports that the 26-year-old has been monitored for some time, and that Cristiano Giuntoli would not have dismissed an offer of around €50m this summer, but none arrived.

Working to a limited budget, Juventus sought a reliable number one. Emiliano Martinez and Aston Villa were deemed too costly, so they turned first to Guglielmo Vicario, who joined on loan from Tottenham with an €8m option, then to Kamil Grabara.

Both were stopgaps. Grabara’s ACL injury now forces Frederic Massara to scan the free-agent market, with a view to investing properly in July.

Carnesecchi is under contract at Atalanta until summer 2028 and renewal talks are not advancing, a situation that may tempt suitors to test the Percassi family for a discount.

Juventus are not alone. Inter, the club Carnesecchi supported as a boy, will assess Josep Martinez and Ivan Provedel this season before deciding, while Premier League interest is a standing threat.
