Kaizer Motaung Jr and Head Scout Thembela Maliwa are looking for new names to strengthen the team.

Kaiser Chiefs are gearing up for a very busy January transfer window to strengthen the team!
In a clear signal of their January intentions, Kaizer Chiefs' representatives, Motuang Jr and Maliwa, were recently in attendance at the TransferRoom conference. The platform is an influential digital marketplace designed to streamline transfers by directly connecting clubs, agents, and players, and has been used effectively by rivals like Mamelodi Sundowns in the past.
Chiefs' mission at the event is understood to be twofold. While the primary focus is scouting for specific new talent, the club is also actively seeking deals for outgoing players. Reports indicate that selling current squad members, such as Fiacre Ntwari and Wandile Duba, is a priority to generate the necessary funds for incoming transfers.
The recruitment strategy appears well-defined, with the technical team aiming to address key imbalances in the squad. Their primary targets are believed to be a specialist defensive midfielder, a creative attacking midfielder, and a left-back.
This need in the defensive midfield role is particularly pressing. The club has had to improvise, with Lebohang Moboe playing there out of position for much of the first half of the season. While Sibongiseni Mthethwa offers solid defensive qualities, he lacks the progressive attacking output now commonly required for the role. The recent signing, Thabo Cele, brings excellent tempo control and distribution, but his profile is that of a deep-lying playmaker rather than the dynamic, hard-running defensive midfielder the squad currently lacks.
