Kasper Hjulmand’s future at Bayer Leverkusen remains open, with the club planning an end-of-season review to set their direction.
Sky Germany reports that the Dane’s position at the BayArena is entirely open, and the review will determine whether the two continue together.
Hjulmand arrived in September after Erik ten Hag was dismissed at the very start of the campaign. He has steadied the side, reaching the Champions League round of 16 and the DFB Pokal semi-finals. Leverkusen are within touching distance of the Bundesliga’s top four.
In recent weeks, however, die Werkself have struggled for consistency, dropping points in games they should have won.
As things stand, it cannot be ruled out that the club and coach choose to part ways.
Hjulmand is under contract until 2027. He took over a squad rebuilt after a mass exodus last summer, so this season was always set to be transitional.
