Sky Germany reports that Bayer Leverkusen head coach Kasper Hjulmand’s future is completely open at the club.

The Dane joined Leverkusen in September after the sacking of Erik ten Hag right at the beginning of the season. Since then, he has stabilised the team and led them into the round of 16 of the Champions League, the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal and within touching distance of the top four in the Bundesliga.

However, in recent weeks, die Werkself have struggled and lack consistency on the pitch, dropping points in games they should have won.

Hjulmand’s Leverkusen future:

Leverkusen plan to hold a review at the end of the season to decide on the direction of the club. This means that Hjulmand’s future at the BayArena is completely open, and it cannot be ruled out that the two parties decide to part ways.

When Hjulmand took charge, he signed a contract at the club until 2027, and it must be taken into consideration that the Dane took charge of a team with a host of new players, following the mass exodus at Leverkusen in the summer, so this season was always going to be a more transitional one.
