Corinthians host Chapecoense on Sunday in the 26th round of the Brasileirão, with academy goalkeeper Kauê expected to start in place of the suspended Hugo Souza.

"The priority is to secure three points at home, get ourselves back up the Brasileirão table and build confidence for the Libertadores. We are quite confident for that trip," he told Corinthians TV.

The match is their final outing before the Libertadores quarter-finals against Estudiantes, with the first leg in La Plata on Wednesday 9 and the return on 16.

"Hugo is important in the day to day, he talks a lot with me, we exchange ideas and I learn things from him for these games."

Hugo will sit out through an automatic ban after accumulating yellow cards, his third caution coming for dissent after the Santor game in the previous round.

Corinthians have lost three league matches in a row. Since club football resumed after the World Cup break, Fernando Diniz’s side have two wins, two draws and three defeats, taking about 38% of the points available.

Kick-off is at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena.
