Pretty much universal belief that the Bees were going to bomb, after Thomas Frank left to join Spurs.

Losing their long-term successful manager was then compounded due to a number of key players leaving.

Amongst those of course was Yoane Wissa signing for Newcastle United.

No surprise that this was top of the agenda for the media when Keith Andrews gave his pre-match press conference.

Keith Andrews on Yoane Wissa not available for Newcastle United due to injury:

“Yoane Wissa is a very good player.

“So I am not too displeased that he is not going to be available because it’s the nature of competing against other teams.

“Around the transfer window, I was glad when it was closed, it wasn’t enjoyable for a lot of people, I would imagine.

“I think the nature of that deal in particular, there was a lot made around certain aspects of it.

“Ultimately, Newcastle United paid a really good fee for a player of a certain age, a really good player, but I think we as a club did pretty well out of that.”

Keith Andrews on the difficulty of picking your best starting eleven and issues with getting a settled team:

“You have to find the right balance, rewarding players that are training very well and taking their opportunities, but you want to build connections as well [with a settled team].

“Styles of play and game plans [will depend on the opposition each match].

“Some of the performances have been very good, really happy with the way this team is growing and developing”.

Keith Andrews on Jordan Henderson:

“He has been brilliant.

“He has clearly done a bit in the game and when our captain left this summer to go to Arsenal, we were quick to highlight somebody that could come in and make an immediate impact.

“Someone that had experience of the league, the know-how.
