Khalis Merah could miss the start of Champions League qualifying after an ankle injury sustained in a clash with a team-mate. L’Équipe reports the OL youngster has suffered a severe sprain and could be sidelined for one month.
That timeframe would rule him out of the first leg of the third qualifying round.
Merah integrated quickly last season, earning Paulo Fonseca’s trust, and must now show patience after this setback.
Keen to take another step, he will aim to regain full ankle mobility as quickly as possible.
The Meyzieu native featured in all pre-season fixtures last year and played in the first eight competitive matches. This injury halts that momentum. If there are no complications, Lyon supporters should see him again soon.
