Lyon's 19-year-old midfielder Khalis Merah has avoided serious injury after a late scare against Rennes.

According to L'Équipe, he was trodden on the arm as a duel ended late on and stayed down in severe pain. He was then removed on a stretcher and replaced by Mathys De Carvalho in the 84th minute.

Merah later joined his team-mates to celebrate in front of the ends, his right arm in a sling with an ice pack on the wrist.

Further tests on Monday revealed only a haematoma.

He will be available for the trip to Toulouse on Sunday at 21:00, the penultimate round of Ligue 1.
