Palmeiras trained at the Academia de Futebol on Monday ahead of Wednesday’s Conmebol Libertadores last-16 second leg against Cerro Porteño in Paraguay at 19:00. Khellven worked with the squad throughout and should bolster the side.
According to Globo.com, the right-back has recovered from a thigh muscle injury sustained at the start of the month. He began his return-to-play work on Sunday after the defeat to Fluminense in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Paulinho continued to work away from the group and is practically ruled out of the trip to Asunción. His recovery is being managed with caution to avoid the risk of further injuries.
Barboza, rested at the weekend due to a foot knock, trained as normal and should be included.
After their usual indoor muscle activation, the squad focused on technical drills, including passing and marking in small-sided areas. Abel Ferreira has one more session before travelling to Asunción on Tuesday. The first-leg draw at Nubank Parque means Palmeiras must win in Paraguay to reach the quarter-finals, with another draw sending the tie to penalties.
