The 35-year-old full-back announced his exit from St James’ Park in April, ending a highly successful four-and-a-half-year spell on Tyneside.
Trippier has opted for Molineux as his next destination, bringing elite pedigree and invaluable top-flight experience to Rob Edwards’ squad.
The former England international is set to sign a two-year contract with Wolves, including an optional third year based on performance milestones.
Trippier will undergo a medical at the club’s training ground next week after returning from a family holiday.
The move is a major coup for Wolves, who fended off strong competition from domestic and overseas suitors to secure the high-profile free agent.
Trippier leaves a significant legacy at Newcastle, having become the first major signing of the club’s Saudi Arabian-led takeover when he arrived from Atletico Madrid for £12 million in January 2022.
He helped guide the Magpies from the Premier League relegation zone to consecutive Champions League campaigns and lifted the League Cup in 2024-25.
Trippier slipped down the pecking order behind Tino Livramento this season, making his final appearance as a late substitute in their last home game of the season against West Ham United.
The right-back is no stranger to the demands of a promotion push, having previously featured in the second tier with Barnsley and Burnley earlier in his career.
