According to Le Progres, Ernest Nuamah has resumed group training with Lyon this week after being reintegrated by Paulo Fonseca’s staff last week, while defenders Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Ruben Kluivert and Kamara continue to work separately.
With 15 internationals absent, including Sulc, Karabec, Nartey and Yaremchuk who are competing for World Cup places, Lyon are on a shortened programme, with sessions only from Tuesday to Thursday.
On Wednesday, Corentin Tolisso and Malick Fofana worked indoors after renewed ankle pain before the Monaco match. Meanwhile Maitland-Niles and Kluivert jogged laps with a fitness coach. With Tagliafico suspended for the trip to Angers, it is not certain the pair will be ready on five April.
Nuamah is in a similar position. Since last week he has been back with the group, and on Monday the club shared footage of him in one v one and finishing drills, looking sharp in creating shooting angles and getting shots away.
On Wednesday, watched by around 200 corporate subscribers, he featured in a training game alongside senior figures Greif, Hateboer, Morton, Mangala, Moreira and Ghezzal against the reserves. He still has work to do to handle Ligue 1 tempo and physicality.
