Giorgi Kochorashvili has arrived in Seville to complete his move to Sevilla. As reported by as.com, the 27-year-old midfielder will be the eighth signing of sporting director José Ignacio Navarro for 2026-27 after Sporting de Portugal finally gave way.
It has taken several weeks to persuade the Lisbon club, even though Kochorashvili was not in their plans. He was not called up for either of the first two rounds of the Portuguese league.
The Georgia international left Levante last summer for a little over five million euros, and Sporting have sought to recoup that fee in selling to Sevilla. He was pivotal in Levante’s promotion to Primera in 2024-25, which earned him a move to one of Portugal’s big clubs.
Although it appears early, given he has not trained once with the first team, Luis García Plaza must now decide whether Giorgi travels to Bilbao on Friday for Saturday’s meeting with Athletic in matchday two. Whether he travels to meet his new team-mates or not, it looks unlikely he will play.
Sevilla must register him with LaLiga first, though the club have had no issues this August registering their recruits. There is a salary cap, and they will need to sell another player to keep signing.
