According to Football Italia, Thomas Kristensen has arrived to begin his Atalanta medical, with his transfer from Udinese nearing completion.

The 24-year-old Dane moved from Aarhus to Udinese in 2023 for €5m, and has made 81 competitive appearances, scoring four and providing one assist.

The clubs have agreed a fee of €22m plus €3m in add-ons, and Udinese will keep 10 per cent of any future sale.

He was seen arriving at Atalanta’s Zingonia training centre in Bergamo, where he greeted a young fan and gave a thumbs up.

He will undergo tests before signing a five-year contract. He has been identified as the replacement for Berat Djimsiti, who has left after 10 years to join Al-Diriyah FC.
