Krovinovic cleared to play and could debut for Grêmio | OneFootball

Filip Krovinovic has been registered by the CBF and is now eligible to play for Grêmio, opening the door to a debut against Atlético-MG on Sunday.

According to Globo.com, his work visa was published in the Diário Oficial da União and his name then appeared in the Boletim Informativo Diário (BID) on Thursday afternoon.

Recommended by head coach Luís Castro, his former boss at Rio Ave-POR, the Croatian arrives with hopes of addressing the team’s creative issues. With Willian’s contract terminated and Monsalve effectively shelved, Castro currently turns to Gabriel Mec for the role.

In recent matches, however, the coach has preferred a midfield built around three defensive players rather than selecting a dedicated playmaker.

Krovinovic arrived in Porto Alegre at the end of July and has trained with the squad since. He could be involved at Arena MRV in the 23rd round of the Brasileirão. Grêmio are 14th on 25 points, three from the relegation zone.
