Kylian Mbappé (25) is set to be omitted from the France squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Israel and Belgium, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Mbappé suffered a hamstring injury last month and was already expected to miss the upcoming international break. However, he made a surprise recovery and not only made the matchday squad to face Lille OSC in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, but he also played.

Following his swift recovery, the expectation was that Mbappé, France’s captain, would make Didier Deschamps upcoming squad, set to be released on Thursday afternoon. However, L’Équipe understands that this is not the case.

Instead, the former Paris Saint-Germain forward is expected to remain with his club side, Real Madrid, and continue building up match fitness following that injury. As a result, he is expected to miss fixtures against Israel on 10th October, and against Belgium on 14 October.
