Kyril Louis-Dreyfus has overseen Sunderland’s return to the Premier League and into Europe, and his reported net worth places him mid-table among top-flight owners.

According to Sunderland Echo, the 28-year-old is listed at £2.8bn, 15th among the 20 Premier League ownership groups. The list is led by Newcastle United’s Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and RB Brothers at £723.3bn, with Manchester City’s City Football Group on £24.5bn.

Manchester United’s ownership is put at £20.5bn, Chelsea’s at £19bn and Arsenal’s at £16.1bn. At the other end, Brighton’s Tony Bloom is on £1.3bn, Coventry City’s Doug King £317m, Brentford’s Matthew Benham £280m and Hull City’s Acun Ilicali £225m.

Sunderland sit just ahead of AFC Bournemouth at £2.7bn. The pack also includes Fulham at £10.9bn, Ipswich Town at £10.8bn, Aston Villa at £8.1bn and Everton at £7.1bn.

Louis-Dreyfus became majority shareholder in February 2021. Since then Sunderland have won two promotions, including a Championship play-off final victory at Wembley that ended their nine-year absence from the top flight, and have secured European football for only the second time in their history.

The last two seasons have seen head coach Regis Le Bris guide the club into the elite, followed by a summer window that preceded Europa League qualification. Louis-Dreyfus is a regular home and away and has become a popular figure on Wearside.
