Miguel Sierra has forced his way into Luis García Plaza’s plans after a bright start, capped by a LaLiga nomination for August’s under-23 award.
According to Diario de Sevilla, the Granada-born winger is up for the prize alongside Xavi Espart of FC Barcelona, Arda Guler of Real Madrid, Yassir Zabiri of Racing and Javi Hernández of Espanyol.
Sierra was Sevilla’s leading scorer in pre-season, earning strong backing from supporters. He then netted his first official goal for the club against Atlético de Madrid, one of the few positives in that defeat.
Oso’s painful exit to RC Strasbourg has created further room for the academy product. Sierra convinced García Plaza over the summer and has kept that level in the opening LaLiga rounds, strengthening the team’s attacking rotation. Comfortable on both flanks, he usually operates from the right, with Alfon, Chidera Ejuke and Félix Correia also in contention out wide.
The 2024 arrival from Real Avilés Industrial initially joined the reserves, stepped into first-team training, debuted, then renewed his contract through 2029. His rise offers a timely internal solution as Sevilla continue to refine their needs, and his start has already been noticed at league level.
