FC Barcelona and Hansi Flick have faced numerous injury challenges since the start of the 2025/26 season. The German coach has rarely had the chance to work with a fully fit squad, and one of the players affected is Lamine Yamal.
The Spanish teenager has been dealing with pubalgia, a persistent groin condition that has limited his performance on the pitch.
According to Mundo Deportivo, to ensure proper management of his injury, Barcelona sought the opinion of a Belgian specialist renowned for treating pubalgia in athletes. Dr Ricard Pruna, head of the first team’s medical staff, coordinated the consultation and oversaw Yamal’s recovery process.
The specialist’s assessment is encouraging. He believes Lamine Yamal is in good condition and commends the club’s approach to physical preparation and rehabilitation.
Early detection of the problem has made treatment more effective, and provided Yamal continues to follow the instructions of the medical and fitness staff, he is expected to recover fully and maintain his high level of performance.
Yamal’s explosive style of play makes managing his condition particularly important, as any discomfort can hinder his natural game. The positive evaluation from the Belgian doctor offers reassurance for both the player and the team.
Hansi Flick has also highlighted Yamal’s improved discipline and hard work both on the field and in the gym, noting that such commitment is crucial for recovery from this type of injury.
If the 18-year-old continues to follow medical guidance, he is likely to return to full fitness, which would be a major boost for Barcelona as they navigate a demanding season.
