In the last two years, the youngster Lamine Yamal has proven his incredible footballing skill beyond any doubt, despite not yet reaching the age of 18. Still only 17 years of age, the winger has become one of the most popular footballers on the planet, being an integral part of both FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

With the latter, he has already won the UEFA EURO 2024, while with the Blaugranes, he has won the Spanish Super Cup, and is on track to win three more big trophies this season, i.e., La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League.

He has also received a lot of individual recognition in these last two years, having received the Kopa Trophy, the Golden Boy award, and the UEFA European Championship Young Player of the Tournament.

Now, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, he has added another title to this list of individual awards, as he was presented with the Laureus World Breakthrough of the Year Award, which celebrates the Barcelona youngster’s sporting and social impact, in a ceremony in Madrid last night.

Yamal himself was unable to attend this event, and the former Blaugrana player Thiago Alcantara represented him and received the award on his behalf, after himself announcing the jury’s decision.

However, Yamal did appear in a video, in which he expressed his happiness and gratitude for being chosen as the winner and also thanked his teammates at Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

Furthermore, the gala also showed a video consisting of his best goals with his club, and also his contributions in helping Spain win the EURO last year. The Spanish national team coach, Luis de la Fuente, also thanked the youngster for these contributions at the ceremony.

Hopefully, this would only be the latest pieces of recognition and the youngster will go on to receive many more individual prizes in the years to come.
