Las Palmas beat Cádiz as LaLiga Hypermotion promotion race tightens | OneFootball

Las Palmas beat Cádiz on Monday to climb to fifth on 63 points, one behind CD Castellón, leaving the LaLiga Hypermotion promotion race wide open.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, CD Castellón remain firmly in the promotion fight with five rounds to play. They consolidated fourth after dealing with direct rivals Málaga.

Racing lead on 69, two clear of Almería after drawing in Ceuta. Almería won in Granada to reach 67 and are among the leading candidates for direct promotion.

Depor drew 1-1 away to Burgos and sit third on 65. Castellón are fourth with 64, three ahead of seventh, which would miss the play-offs.

Las Palmas complete the top six with 63 and Burgos have 61. Eibar also have 61, and Málaga are one back in eighth.

Friday at 18.30, Depor host mid-table Leganés. On Saturday at 18.30, Castellón welcome Córdoba, who have 54 and arrive on a run of four straight wins. Later at 21.00, Eibar face Málaga in a direct duel on the edge of the top six.

On Sunday, Racing meet Huesca, who are fighting to stay up, and at 21.00 Las Palmas host Valladolid. Monday brings Almería against Mirandés at 20.30. Expect a tense run-in.
