Late winners for Tottenham and West Ham, plus Nottingham Forest’s emphatic away victory, have reshaped the relegation picture around Leeds United.

Leeds had moved nine points clear after Wednesday’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, though they had played a game more than Forest, West Ham and Tottenham, all in league action this weekend while Leeds contest the FA Cup. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, those fixtures offered their rivals a chance to close the gap.

Forest were first up on Friday night and smashed Sunderland 5-0, pulling to within one point of 15th-placed Leeds on level games.

On Saturday, Tottenham earned their first league victory of the year with a 1-0 success at already relegated Wolves, Joao Palhinha striking eight minutes from time at Molineux.

West Ham led Everton on 51 minutes through Tomas Soucek, were pegged back two minutes from time by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, then Callum Wilson won it in the second minute of second-half stoppage time to seal a 2-1 triumph.

The results leave Leeds six points above the drop with four games to play, six clear of third-bottom Tottenham. Despite their win, Spurs remain in the relegation zone, two behind fourth-bottom West Ham, who are three off Forest and four adrift of Leeds.
