Laurent Bonadei has played down concerns over repeated injuries to France captain and centre-back Griedge Mbock.
According to L'Équipe, he addressed two significant setbacks since she was handed the armband. Mbock is out of the year’s first camp, which opens France’s 2027 World Cup qualifying campaign in Brazil.
France have conceded at least one goal in their last 10 matches. Mbock, 31, has 96 caps and nine goals. Last summer a calf injury limited her to one Euro match, shortly after she had taken the armband following Wendie Renard’s omission.
Speaking in Dijon on Friday, on the eve of hosting Poland, Bonadei said he was not unduly alarmed and highlighted Mbock’s professionalism.
He said a collision against Lyon caused a small medial collateral ligament strain in her right knee, an injury he described as fairly common. He added she will return to club action in March and will be quickly competitive.
