Lazio ‘agree’ deal for Albert Gudmundsson, talks on terms continue | OneFootball

Lazio are closing in on a deadline-day move for Fiorentina forward Albert Gudmundsson, with an agreement between the clubs reported and talks over personal terms under way.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Lazio have struck a deal with the Viola and are negotiating with the Iceland international’s entourage, with a loan plus option to buy the likely formula.

Gudmundsson rose to prominence in the Netherlands before joining Genoa in 2021, becoming a standout at the Luigi Ferraris. He switched to Fiorentina in summer 2024, but injuries and frequent coaching changes have limited his impact in Tuscany.

Primarily a second striker or attacking midfielder, he could give Gennaro Gattuso scope to use 4-2-3-1. He can also operate wide in a 4-3-3, potentially competing with Mattia Zaccagni on the left.

There had been conflicting reports over whether Gattuso would accommodate him, though several now indicate a move could be imminent as the window closes.
