Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has reportedly shaken off the thigh injury, handing Lazio and Nigeria a timely boost ahead of the weekend.

According to Lazio News 24, the midfielder should be fit for a call-up at Venezia on Saturday, 20:45 CET, the club’s final outing before an extended international break.

The Nigerian sustained the problem in the opening-day win over Bologna, then missed the next three matches against Genoa, Udinese and AC Milan.

While Gennaro Gattuso is not expected to take risks, the 26-year-old should travel with the squad. Danilo Cataldi is also set to rejoin and could make his first appearance of the season after groin surgery.

Their availability would deepen midfield cover behind Davide Frattesi, Reda Belahyane and Kenneth Taylor. Nicolo Rovella is not due back before the break, and the same applies to Adam Marusic.

Dele-Bashiru’s return could yet prompt a Nigeria call-up, with the Super Eagles starting African Cup of Nations qualifying during the break. They host Madagascar on 25 September, then visit Guinea-Bissau on 29 September.
