Lazio are reportedly monitoring Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard, with Roma also weighing up a move as the month closes.
Caught Offside reports that the Dane could leave before the end of the month, with Ajax seen as the leading suitors after making early contact. The same report says Lazio and Roma have him on their shortlists, Arsenal value him at €15-17 million and his contract runs to June 2027 with an option for another year.
Lazio sold Matteo Guendouzi to Fenerbahce in early January and signed Kenneth Taylor from Ajax. Maurizio Sarri has said the Dutchman is not a direct replacement, so he still expects Claudio Lotito and Angelo Fabiani to add another midfielder.
Norgaard came through at Lyngby, then had spells with Hamburg and Fiorentina before joining Brentford in 2019. After six years in west London, he moved to Arsenal last summer.
Competition in Arsenal’s midfield has limited his minutes, with 11 appearances across all competitions this season, most as a substitute.
He is primarily a holding midfielder who shields the backline, which may not perfectly suit Sarri’s preference for a deep-lying playmaker in the No. six role. Danilo Cataldi has led that regista duty this season, while Nicolo Rovella has been hampered by a groin issue since the start.
