Lazio have received mixed news from the infirmary, as Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is back in action, while Albert Gudmundsson faces a spell on the sidelines.

Lazio confirm Albert Gudmundsson Injury

On Wednesday afternoon, the official Lazio website provided an update on the conditions of their injured players, confirming that Gudmundsson, who suffered a nasty fall during a UEFA Nations League game for Iceland, has suffered a dislocated injury, while also revealing new injury setbacks for Danilo Cataldi and Adrian Przyborek.

The SS Lazio medical staff announces that today the condition of Albert Gudmundsson, recently returned from international duty, was assessed. The Icelandic all-rounder suffered a dislocated left glenohumeral joint, which spontaneously reduced. The player will complete his tests tomorrow and immediately begin his recovery program, with daily monitoring. Danilo Cataldi has reported a quadriceps problem. His condition will be evaluated daily Adrian Przyborek is sidelined with muscle fatigue as a precaution.

Gudmundsson’s Estimated Recovery Time

As usual, the official statement didn’t provide an estimated timetable. However, all sources agree that this latest update confirms that Gudmundsson’s condition is worse than originally envisioned, and he’s highly unlikely to be back for the Serie A clash against Juventus on October 18, as previously reported.

Il Messaggero rules out a return in October, as they expect the 29-year-old to be out for at least a month. On the other hand, Il Corriere dello Sport suggests the Iceland international could remain out of action for 45 days.
