Lazio close in on Frattesi deal on loan with obligation to buy | OneFootball

Lazio are closing in on a deal to sign Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi, as growing reports claim the two clubs have agreed on a fee and formula for the transfer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, and a number of other sources across Italy, the Biancocelesti submitted a fresh proposal this morning, worth €15m total – split between the loan fee and a mandatory purchase obligation.

The reports claim the only thing left to agree is what will trigger the permanent purchase.

Inter will also retain a large share of the future sale fee, expected to be at least 15-20 per cent.

Lazio & Inter work on obligation trigger for Frattesi

It has been a difficult 2026 for Lazio, who face growing off-the-pitch protests against hugely unpopular owner Claudio Lotito.

A transfer ban last summer was followed by only being able to operate at a net balance this summer, with Maurizio Sarri leaving the club and being replaced by former Azzurri head coach Gennaro Gattuso.

Lazio’s hopes of qualifying for Europe will be fairly slim this season and it would be surprising if this was the condition that were to complete the obligation.

Instead, it may be based on a set number of appearances across the season or Lazio’s position in the league table.
