Lazio are closing in on a deal for Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi, with the fee and structure said to be agreed for a loan with an obligation to buy.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Biancocelesti lodged a fresh proposal this morning worth €15m in total, split between the loan fee and a mandatory purchase.

The only point still to settle is which clause will activate the permanent transfer.

It has been a difficult 2026 for Lazio, with protests mounting against unpopular owner Claudio Lotito. A transfer ban last summer was followed by a net-balance policy this summer, while Maurizio Sarri left and Gennaro Gattuso replaced him.

With expectations subdued, qualifying for Europe looks unlikely and it would be surprising if that became the trigger. The obligation may instead hinge on appearances or the team’s final league position.
