Lazio confirm permanent signing of Andrea Pinamonti from Sassuolo | OneFootball

Lazio have confirmed the permanent signing of Italian centre-forward Andrea Pinamonti from Sassuolo after he completed his medical on Thursday morning.

According to The Laziali, Gennaro Gattuso has sought a new centre-forward all summer, as he, like predecessor Maurizio Sarri, is unconvinced by Petar Ratkov, while Boulaye Dia has struggled in front of goal.

Targets including Franjo Ivanovic, Santiago Gimenez and Carlos Espi were pursued without success. An agreement with Sassuolo was closed earlier this week, clearing Pinamonti to arrive in Rome on Wednesday.

Most reports had pointed to a loan with an option to buy because the club have been operating to a net-zero transfer policy. The official announcement instead confirmed a permanent deal.

Sky Sport Italia suggested the formula involves a modest fixed fee of around two to three million euros, plus sizeable bonuses that could take the total to 12 million.
