Lazio Full-Back Set for Significan Pay Ri – Figures Revealed | OneFootball

Lazio are keen to extend the contract of Romano Floriani Mussolini after cementing himself as a regular starter in Gennaro Gattuso’s lineup.

The Background

Last season, the 23-year-old found limited success in his first Serie A experience at Cremonese, who opted not to exercise their option to buy him following their relegation. Therefore, the Roman returned to Lazio, much to Gattuso’s delight.

Romano Floriani Mussolini Returned to Lazio in the Summer

After showing encouraging signs in the summer, Gattuso considered Floriani Mussolini as the main backup for Adam Marusic at right-back, while Manuel Lazzari became surplus to requirements, albeit he ended up staying at the club. So when the Montenegrin picked up an injury on the opening day of the season, Floriani Mussolini came in as a replacement and has been a regular starter ever since.

Floriani Mussolini Thriving at Lazio

The Lazio youth product has been delivering convincing displays, despite his giveaway in Venice, which resulted in a spot kick for the opposition (later saved by Christos Mandas). Therefore, the management considers renewing Floriani Mussolini’s contract a priority, as his current deal is only valid until June 2028.

Lazio Preparing New Contract for Floriani Mussolini

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio will offer the player a new contract by January. The plan is to reward him with a salary that reflects his growing importance to the club. The right-back is currently one of the lowest earners in the first team, with a modest yearly salary of €130,000, bonuses included.

The Contract Details

The Biancocelesti are prepared to offer Floriani Mussolini a five-year contract with a new and improved salary, starting at €500,000 per season. This figure would improve with every passing year.

The full-back is the first Lazio youth product to earn a prominent role in the senior squad since Danilo Cataldi.
