Lazio sign Diogo Leite on free transfer | OneFootball

Lazio have confirmed the free transfer of Portuguese centre-back Diogo Leite, strengthening Gennaro Gattuso’s defence for the season.

The club continue to remodel their backline after summer departures. Having signed former Union Berlin team-mate Danilho Doekhi in July, they pursued Leite to add quality, depth and tactical flexibility.

Leite left Union Berlin when his contract expired at the end of June 2026, and talks advanced to an agreement on personal terms to bring the 27-year-old to Rome. His deal runs for two years to 2028, with a club option for a further two seasons.
