Manuel Pellegrini provides injury update on Real Betis star | OneFootball

Real Betis head coach Manuel Pellegrini has provided an update on the wellbeing of defensive star Marc Bartra. This comes after the former Barcelona man set alarm bells ringing on Sunday.

Stopper Bartra was for his part in from the off yesterday, as Betis closed out their pre-international break fixture list in a La Liga meeting with Deportivo La Coruña.

With just ten minutes on the clock at Riazor, though, the 35-year-old pulled up with a fitness complaint, before immediately signalling to the bench that he was unable to continue.

From here, Bartra was in turn replaced by Valentín Gómez.

And as alluded to above, manager Manuel Pellegrini has since provided an insight into the wellbeing of his veteran central defender:

“We’ll see. Hopefully, it wasn’t a tear. Marc felt a strain in his hamstring. We’ll see what the doctor says. Now there will be three weeks to try and get him back. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious and it wasn’t a tear.”

A further update on Bartra’s situation is expected over the days ahead, upon the Spaniard undergoing a round of medical tests.
