Lazio defender Luiz Felipe is close to signing a contract renewal with the Biancocelesti, tying him to the club until 2025, according to a report from Roman newspaper La Repubblica (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

The report details how the Roman club are working on renewing the contracts of many important parts of the Biancocelesti squad, with striker Ciro Immobile and defender Francesco Acerbi already reaching new agreements.

The 23-year-old Brazilian defender is now set to become the next player to extend their contract with Lazio until 2025, the report continues.

After him, Lazio will look to extend the contracts of Adam Marusic, Patric and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, as all three players’ contracts expire in 2022 like Luiz Felipe.

Akpa Akpro will also receive a significant salary increase as he currently earns amongst the lowest in the squad.

Felipe Caicedo and Thomas Strakosha are also in the mix and could reach new deals over the coming weeks.

Finally, Lazio are also talking to veterans Senad Lulic, Marco Parolo and Stefan Radu, three players whose contracts expire at the end of the season.
