Eight years after his departure, Lazio are now pushing to bring back Antonio Candreva as his contract with Salernitana begins drawing to a close.

The Italian winger spent a successful four-and-a-half-year spell with the Biancocelesti from January 2012 to August 2016, helping the side beat Roma in the 2012-13 Coppa Italia final. He scored 45 goals and provided 43 assists across 190 games before being sold to Inter.

Candreva has continued to impress with Salernitana in recent years, scoring against Napoli, Milan, Lazio and Roma this season. He has now entered the last six months of his contract in Salerno and isn’t expected to pen a new deal.

TMW details how Lazio want to bring back Candreva and are currently in talks with Salernitana, hoping to sign him in the coming weeks. Should they fail to agree a deal this month, the Biancocelesti would look to pick him up on a free transfer in the summer.

In the meantime, the Roman club are at risk of losing Felipe Anderson on a free transfer in the summer, with both Juventus and Aston Villa keen to sign the 30-year-old.
