Régis Le Bris is hopeful Habib Diarra has avoided a serious injury after the Sunderland midfielder was forced off during the latter stages of the 1-0 victory over Fulham.
Diarra was introduced shortly after the hour mark and made an immediate impact on the contest, setting up Wilson Isidor for the only goal of the game.
However, the midfielder was unable to see out the match after appearing to suffer a muscle problem in the minutes following his assist.
Le Bris is hopeful the issue is not serious, although Sunderland will continue to assess Diarra’s condition.
“His injury doesn’t look too serious at the minute, but we’ll see,” Le Bris said after the game.
Le Bris also praised Diarra’s impact, and that of winning goalscorer Isidor.
“Habib is so intense; so intense,” Le Bris added.
“As well as Wilson, they changed our press so it was tactically the same, but with 20-30% more energy.”
