L’Équipe report that Ligue 2 side Le Havre are interested in signing defender Saïdou Sow from Saint-Étienne, after the sudden departure of veteran Zakaria Diallo.
The second-tier leaders have stepped up their efforts to sign the 20-year-old in the last few days, although an agreement is yet to be found between the two clubs.
Sow has only appeared three times this season for Les Verts, who are currently bottom of the table as they continue to spiral down following last season’s relegation from Ligue 1. The Guinea international had previously featured 28 times in the top flight in the last two seasons, notching two goals and an assist in 2021/22. His contract expires in another three years.
Sow was close to leaving at the end of the summer transfer window after an offer from Reims, but was instead sent to the reserves at the start of the season. He now wants to find a new club to increase his playing time, given he is not in manager Laurent Batlles’ plans.
