Le Mans to present ‘King Éric’ shirt to Brest on Ligue 1 matchday one

Le Mans FC will honour former Stade Brestois head coach Éric Roy when they host Brest on the first matchday of Ligue 1 at Stade Marie-Marvingt. They are the first opponents Brest will face in an official game since Roy died in late June from pancreatic cancer.
According to L'Équipe, club president Pedro Oliveira will present a 'King Éric - 29' shirt to a Brest official after the warm-up. The shirt will be signed by the entire Le Mans playing squad and staff.
There will be no minute's silence before kick-off. Between 18,000 and 20,000 spectators are expected.
OGC Nice also plan to pay tribute to Roy when they host Lorient on Saturday at 20:45.
Brest intend to stage their most prominent tribute during Brest v PSG on Sunday 13 September, expected to be their first full house of the season.
