Lee Grant to assess Walsall defensive duo before Exeter trip | OneFootball

Lee Grant will assess defenders Declan Skura and Rico Browne before Walsall’s trip to Exeter City on Saturday. Both have been withdrawn at half-time in recent matches.

As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, Skura felt a leg problem during the 2-2 draw at Crewe Alexandra and was replaced at half-time.

Grant said there has been limited training time and he cannot provide a final update on Skura. He remains hopeful the defender will be OK and will monitor him before the trip.

Browne was taken off at the break in the 3-2 home win over Accrington Stanley with a calf issue, then missed the midweek draw at Gresty Road.

Grant had hoped he might be in contention at Crewe, which did not materialise. The right-back has returned to the grass this week but still has work to do to feel comfortable.

A decision on Browne’s condition will be made nearer the weekend, with the next 24 hours important. Grant also intends to assess other players.
