According to TuttoMercato, Leeds United and Sunderland are very interested in a January loan for Roma forward Artem Dovbyk, with any move most likely in England.
Leeds strengthened up front in the summer by signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free, and the England international has seven goals in his last seven during a promising run of form.
Sunderland are also looking at Dovbyk as they seek to build on an outstanding first half of the season.
Joe Rodon’s injury in last weekend’s draw at Sunderland has reportedly prompted Leeds to assess centre-back options, with teamTALK naming Union Berlin’s Danilho Doekhi as a prime target.
The report adds the 27-year-old joined from Vitesse in summer 2022, has 15 goals in 118 appearances for the Bundesliga club, and is noted for physical dominance, aerial prowess and an unexpected goal threat.
Doekhi is out of contract this summer, so Leeds could open pre-contract talks, though Union are said to prefer a January sale at around £11.3m rather than lose him for nothing.
